About these docs
Lumina ERP Docs is a free reference for people who run, support and build on Epicor Prophet 21 and Epicor Kinetic. It is also for anyone who wants to understand the numbers a wholesale distribution business runs on. It is written and maintained by Lumina ERP, LLC, an independent ERP consultancy based in Houston, Texas. You can learn more about us at lumina-erp.com.
Who writes them
Section titled: Who writes themThese pages are written by our consultants from their own working experience administering, implementing, fixing and integrating Prophet 21 and Kinetic. Each page is reviewed before it is published. Pages that have not finished review are never part of the public site.
How to read a page

What these docs are
Section titled: What these docs areEvery page is our own writing: how things work, how to decide between options, checklists and the failure patterns we see. We stay conservative about specifics, because versions, settings and licensing differ between installations. Where a detail varies, we say so and tell you what to confirm in your own environment. When a page states a fact about how Epicor software behaves, or what Epicor plans, that is not self-evident, it lists a public source.
What these docs are not
Section titled: What these docs are not- Epicor documentation. We do not reproduce or paraphrase Epicor help, knowledge base, training material or release notes. For official documentation, go to Epicor.
- Client material. Nothing here comes from a client system, client data or a client configuration. Examples are written for the page.
- A substitute for testing. Test anything you change in an ERP in a non-production environment first.

We read every report and correct pages promptly. Please do not send us data from your own ERP system. A description of the behavior is enough.
